Education: Catholic education is important to me and was instilled in me by my parents. I attended Catholic school from kindergarten through college. I graduated from Santa Clara elementary and Santa Clara High School. From there I attended junior college and then went to a Catholic college at Mount Saint Mary’s where I majored in liberal studies and minored in English. I continued at Mount St. Mary’s to receive my teaching credential. After teaching at St. Anthony’s for several years, I felt I wanted to challenge myself by getting a Master’s Degree. I received a Master’s in Elementary Reading from Walden University. I also have received a Certificate of Religion from the LA Archdiocese. In the 2004-2005 and 2005- 2006 school year I received recognition from Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Personal History: I was born and raised in Oxnard. I have two wonderful brothers and lots of fun loving relatives. Since, I was in 2nd grade I dreamed of being a teacher. I have been teaching in Catholic Schools for seventeen years. I first started teaching kindergarten at St. Anne’s in Santa Monica. Seventeen years ago I came to St. Anthony School and fell in love with the students and families. I taught kindergarten for 5 years, then first grade for 5 years, and have been teaching 2nd grade for the last seven years. I absolutely love teaching and can’t imagine myself doing another job. I have two wonderful children who both graduated from St. Anthony and currently attend Villanova Catholic High School. I have had the privilege of teaching my children and being at the same school as them for elementary school. I married my high school sweetheart and have been happily married. My husband is also a teacher and my family loves going on trips and spending time together in the summer with our relatives and friends
