Third Grade

Ms Katya Acuna
Grade: 3 Room: 11

I, the LORD, have called you for the victory of justice. I have grasped you by the hand. I formed you and set you as a covenant of the people, a light for the nations to open the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from confinement, and from the dungeon, those who live in darkness.
–Isaiah 42:6-7

Personal History:
I began my teaching career in 2004 as a fourth grade teacher at Immaculate Conception School in South Central Los Angeles as a member of the PLACE Corps (Partners in Los Angeles Catholic Education), a service program through the University of Notre Dame and Loyola Marymount University. After graduating from the program, I returned to my hometown to serve as the third grade teacher here at Saint Anthony School, and it has been a tremendous honor and blessing working in such a deeply faith-filled community! I love teaching, participating in church ministries and liturgies, reading non-fiction books, and singing karaoke with my family and friends!
